Did a bedtime character sketch that I really liked, so I inked and coloured it. It really is time to nail down the character designs for my Trichoplax project…

Seffa 002 – Hair Practice
Practicing hair again. Also another swing at Seffa. I am not sure what colours I will use for her, but the characters in Trichoplax are not limited to human skin tones.
Seffa 001
I absolutely love ‘world building’. But I have recruited Halli Lillburn as a writer. As I explained to her; I need someone to make the characters and story actually matter. So Halli has been asking me numerous questions about the characters so that we can really nail down their personalities. I sketched this at Drink N Draw on Tuesday while we were discussing the project.
This species call themselves “The Chosen”. They are the self-proclaimed rulers and owners of everything there is. They are ruthless and uncaring. When one of the royal class comes of age they find an unclaimed solar system to rule, regardless of what species is already there. They claim that the universe has chosen them to dictate over all living things. While they would never fight another chosen, they will not lift a finger to defend or avenge. Should a Chosen lose control of their subjects they are seen as pathetic and unworthy.
They play a role in the history of the Wanderers. I will get into that another day.
An important part of the Trichoplax project is the ability to “thread” to other planets. It is an instantaneous yet unpredictable method of travelling across the universe.
Here is a quick rundown of the theory. The universe is teeming with invisible, intangible threads. They act as conduits for various types of energy, moving that energy between points instantly. If you had the ability to interact with them you could pinch one off, sort of like a garden hose. The pressure of the energy pushing through the thread will instantly take any obstructing matter with it. That’s how they can move you across the universe instantly. However, these threads are constantly writhing, and popping in and out of existence. You would have no way to know where a thread begins and ends. And the odds of finding a way back home are near-infinity against you.
Early on this type of travel looked like the picture I drew today. It was fun to draw, but no longer quite so accurate.
